Auto Backup Cube vs Multiport Photo Stick: which should you stock?
Both are MFi-certified and both back up photos and videos without the cloud. The difference is commercial: one is built for volume and gifting, the other for premium retail. Here’s how to choose — or why you’ll probably want both.
When to lead with the Cube
The Cube’s strength is unit economics. Because the customer supplies the microSD card, your cost per unit is the lowest in the range — which makes it the natural fit for carrier giveaways, promotional gifts, hotel amenities, and any program where volume and price point matter more than ticket value. You can ship it bare for the keenest price, or bundle it with a card to build a complete retail box with a higher margin.
When to lead with the Stick
The Stick is the premium, retail-ready product. Built-in storage and four connectors in one SKU mean there’s nothing else to buy and nothing to explain — it covers Apple, Android, and computers out of the box. That justifies a higher retail price and gives resellers a healthier per-unit margin, which is why it performs in electronics retail, photography stores, and e-commerce listings.
Most distributors carry both — the Cube for volume & gifting, the Stick for premium retail. Together they cover the full price ladder, from a low-cost promotional unit to a premium shelf product.
